Patricia Sykes

PS_redPatricia Sykes is a poet and librettist. Her poems have won the John Shaw Neilson, Tom Collins, and Newcastle Poetry Prizes. Wire Dancing, her first collection, was commended in the Anne Elder and Mary Gilmore awards. Patricia’s collaboration with Australian composer Liza Lim led to nominations in the Green Room and the Helpmann awards. In 2006 she was Asialink writer in residence in Malaysia.

In The Abbotsford Mysteries the Convent becomes more than the setting of this poetry collection, which explores many themes including what it means to grow up in an orphanage.
