Meredith Jaffé is a writer and occasional book critic. For four years she wrote the weekly literary column The Bookshelf for the online women’s magazine The Hoopla, sharing literary news, reviewing books and interviewing writers. Meredith regularly chairs panels, presents workshops and interviews fellow authors for various literary events and writers festivals.
As a keen believer in the power of literacy, Meredith volunteers at The Footpath Library where she manages their annual EPIC! writing competition for school children. She is also a committee member of the Friends of Milton Library and the Program Coordinator for the Batemans Bay Writers Festival. Meredith has reviewed for the Guardian Australia and is working on novel number three.
As Program Coordinator for the Festival Meredith is working up a wonderful and diverse program for the weekend. She will be speaking about her first novel at the Festival: The Fence, about a lot of things — fences and what they mean, bad neighbours, career women, house husbands, growing old and the illusion of having it all. She will also be facilitating some fantastic sessions during the Festival.
